This dark-roasted coffee from small producers in Latin America, with hints of burnt honey, pipe tobacco and cocoa powder, was specially blended in collaboration with Genumark Canada, Rightsleeve, and the Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Fund. This special blend is limited edition, and will only come out once a year.
The Birch Bark Coffee Company supports Indigenous makers & growers world-wide, normally setting aside portions of the profits from their coffee towards renewable water sources in Indigenous communities. For this campaign, they are dedicating a portion of profits from each bag of Birch Bark’s Reconciliation Blend to go towards the Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Fund, an organization committed to supporting reconciliation through awareness, education & connection.
Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Fund
Inspired by Chanie’s story and Gord’s call to build a better Canada, the Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Fund aims to build cultural understanding and create a path toward reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples.
Our goal is to improve the lives of Indigenous people by building awareness, education, and connections between all peoples in Canada.
Whiskeyjack Boutique will donate all proceeds of our portion of the sale to the Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Fund as well!
